Your answers stay on your device
Everything you enter, including sex, age, country, height, weight, income, debt, net worth and the health and habit answers, is processed by code running in your browser. It is not sent to our servers and we cannot see it.
What is stored, and where
- Browser local storage: your latest answers are saved under one key so the page remembers them. "Start over" deletes it, as does clearing your browser data.
- Share links: when you press Share, your answers are encoded into the link itself. The income, debt and net worth amounts are never put in the link; only the three resulting scores are. Anyone you give that link to can see the other answers and those scores. Share it only if you are comfortable with that.
- Server logs: our web server records standard request data (IP address, time, page, browser type) for security and to count visits. Logs do not contain your answers; the part of a share link after the # is never sent to the server. Logs are kept for up to 90 days.
What we do not do
No accounts, no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics scripts, no sale of personal information.
Service providers
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes request data to deliver and protect the site, and hosted on a server in the United States.
Your rights
Under GDPR and CCPA you can ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Since answers never reach us, this covers server logs only. Write to [email protected].
Children
Guestimator is for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children and should not be used by them.
Changes
We will post changes on this page with a new date.
